CNY Celebration 2009

新年快乐,恭喜发财,万事如意

We had our CNY celebration in Cazaux Base on the 23rd January. We have the usuals, the ignition of the firecrackers, lion dance, "loh hei", lucky draw...

Pre CNY Surprise!

Wow! It's really a lifetime experience for this surprise! We have encountered a hurricane-force winds which started in the wee hours at about 4am on the 24th January right here with us. Our roof is slightly damamged compared to other families in the town. Electricity and communication was cutoff on that day in our ville(Gujan Mestras). Although some families in the ville are able to have the power back within the day but we have to wait till about 40hrs before we regain our electricity. Although the power has regained but communication network is still out of range, we managed to have our internet network stablised last nite 27 Jan. Here are some pictures to share:

Pre CNY

CNY is around the corner, I've tried to make some cookies (peanut cookies & pineapple tarts) to welcome the year of the Ox. This time round, I did the cookies all by myself as my CNY baking kakis are either in SIN or busy moving house and settling down over here.

Here is the presentation of the cookies I've made, looks delicious???

Clapotis Year End Party

It's time again for Clapotis(childcare) year end party which actually should have held it last year. But, Cristelle, the directrice did not managed to book for the hall for last year, so it was brought forward to 18 January 2009. This year, the celebration is on a smaller scale compared to 2007 as there are lesser people and activities for the kids. Although, the atmosphere is not over whelming, the kids still enjoyed themselves tho. Well, it's playtime for the kids again...

Here is another video clip taken in Clapotis a couple of weeks ago...hope you can make out what they are singing..kekkeke...

Spain - Bilbao

Although it's already the 6th day of the new year 2009, but this is my 1st blog for the year. Here's wishing all, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!

Today, I will still post pictures which are taken last year or I should say our last trip out of France to Spain, Bilbao which is about 3hrs drive away. We didn't shop around tho Bilbao is known for its shopping alleys as we have spent most of our time taking pictures. Moreover, the winter sales will be starting in Jan'09 soon, so save our pockets! We had a good and cheap lunch at the Orient along the main street which serves buffet in teppanyaki style. Point to note, if you want to have water in the restaurant, it is chargeable, it's not like France where water is free in most of the restaurants...
