ChickenPox (Child to be vaccined or not?)

First of all, since today is Valentine's Day...here wishing all a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Finally I'm feeling better after getting this chickenpox (known as varicella-zoster virus). Avril did not escape from the virus too when I found red spots on her body first in the morning before she goes to school and I discovered that I had a big red spot on my abdomen the very evening.

I'm not sure how other adults felt when they had the virus, but for me, I had fever for 3-4 days, been feeling tired and sleepy and slept thru for 4-5 days... tho I'm better, but still feeling tired...During consultation, I told the doc that I might have chickenpox, he look at me with eyes wide open...i thot he don't understand what's chickenpox so I'm thinking how to interpret in french and he said,"You? have chickenpox at your AGE?"....what can we say...but laughs it off...

I'm glad that Avril had the chickenpox vaccine when she's a baby, her condition is very mild with less than 10 spots, no fever, feeling energised and we can put our mind at ease but still we keep her away for 2weeks though she recovers within 10days...and I will bring her for a booster jab when she's 5years old(recommended age is 4-6yrs old).
If you are still thinking whether you want to get your child vaccined, here are some links for your reference...personally, I feel that this vaccine which Avril has taken really helps us to tide over the disease physically and mentally...

My friend recommends a drug named Zovirax(Acyclovir) to speedup the healing of chickenpox but this drug is effective only when it's taken during the first sign of the virus and throughout per prescription by docter. She told me that the cost of the drug is about S$200 but not sure why some people are able to get it at about S$60...
